Gilgit-Baltistan Elections, Notification Issued for 21 Successful Candidates and Reserved Seats

Islamabad (Turkiye Khabar) The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has issued the official notification of 21 successful candidates out of 24 general seats, along with reserved seats for women and technocrats, after the results of the general elections 2026.

According to the Election Commission, the notifications of victory for three candidates have been withheld in light of the orders of the Supreme Appellate Court. The issued notification was released under the Election Act 2017 and Election Rules 2017, according to which the names of successful candidates on the general seats of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly have been officially announced.

According to the notification, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians secured the highest number of victories on general seats, while Pakistan Muslim League (N), Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and independent candidates have also become part of the assembly.

The Election Commission stated that the announcement of successful candidates was made after completion of official results and all legal requirements.

Announcement of Reserved Seats for Women and Technocrats

The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has also announced successful candidates on reserved seats for women and technocrats.

Out of six reserved seats for women, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians received three seats, on which Kulsoom Jahangir, Saadia Danish and Sobia Jabeen were declared successful.

Pakistan Muslim League (N) received two reserved seats, on which Sajida Begum and Jennifer Bahadur were declared successful, while Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party received one seat, on which Dilshad Bano was declared successful.

On three technocrat seats, Muhammad Sharif from Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Sahib Khan from Pakistan Muslim League (N), and Muhammad Ali from Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party were declared successful.

According to the Election Commission, the distribution of reserved seats was made on the basis of political parties’ representation in the assembly and the submitted priority lists, after which the success of all successful candidates has officially come into effect.
