Regional Consultative Meeting on Agricultural Development Program in Kazakh–Tufan Economic Region, Key Objectives Reviewed

Baku (Turkiye Khabar) A regional consultative meeting was held in the Kazakh–Tufan economic region regarding the implementation of the “State Program for the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquatic Production in Azerbaijan 2026–2030,” approved under the presidential decree of May 25, 2026.

The meeting in Shamkir aimed to ensure the implementation of directives given by President Ilham Aliyev at the agriculture-related meeting on May 25, 2026, and to implement the objectives of the state program in a coordinated manner across all regions.

During the meeting, Natig Amirov, Assistant to the President and Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Industry in the Presidential Administration, gave a detailed briefing on the main goals and objectives of the new state program.

He said that the systematic agricultural reforms carried out under the President’s leadership in recent years have led to significant development in the sector, while the directives given at the May 25 meeting have defined a new phase of agricultural policy.

According to him, the approved state program aims to increase production, rapidly transition to a modern and competitive agricultural system, enhance processing and export of agricultural products, develop fisheries and aquaculture, and strengthen food security in the country.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Qadimova said during her presentation that the program consists of five major goals, five core directions, sixteen activity sectors, and eighty-six practical measures, designed with clear performance indicators.
