Ankara (Turkiye Khabar) The Republic of Türkiye and Syria have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of health and medical sciences.
The announcement was made on Friday by Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu.
According to the Health Minister, the agreement was reached during ongoing official contacts with Syria through his Syrian counterpart Musa Nazzal al-Ali.
The agreement has been designed primarily to protect public health, combat infectious diseases, and improve maternal and child health systems.
Kemal Memişoğlu said that the cooperation also includes areas such as pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, vaccine production, medical biotechnology, disaster and emergency management, health information systems, and the promotion of health tourism, with an emphasis on technical expertise and exchange of information.
He added that the agreement will further enhance cooperation between the two countries in the health sector and is expected to be beneficial for both nations.
