WASHINGTON (Monitoring Desk) – U.S. authorities have announced that the blockade imposed on Iran’s ports and coastal areas has been lifted. However, U.S. naval vessels will remain present in the region to ensure the implementation of the agreement.
According to the U.S. military, the presence of naval forces is aimed at maintaining stability in the region and monitoring compliance with the agreed arrangements. Officials have expressed expectations of easing tensions following the removal of the blockade.
On the other hand, Iran’s Supreme Security Council stated that mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz will be carried out under the Islamabad agreement.
The statement added that the Persian Gulf Strait Authority will issue permits for vessel movement, while all ships will be required to follow designated routes and schedules.
Experts believe that this development is expected to improve maritime trade and energy supply routes in the region and contribute to a reduction in tensions.
