Progress in Iran-US talks, agreement on roadmap for deal within 60 days

Islamabad (Turkiyeh News) Significant progress has emerged in the diplomatic process between Iran and the United States following the meeting held under the joint mediation of Qatar and Pakistan.

According to the joint statement, the parties have agreed on a formal roadmap to reach a comprehensive agreement within the next 60 days. The statement said that the first high-level talks concluded in a positive and constructive environment, during which progress was also made toward establishing a permanent mechanism for future technical negotiations.

The parties have agreed to form a high-level committee for political oversight of the negotiation process, while special working groups related to the nuclear program, sanctions, and dispute resolution will also be established.

According to the statement, a direct communication system between the two countries has also been established to ensure the safe movement of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and to prevent any misunderstandings.
