Karachi (Commerce Desk): The State Bank of Pakistan has released figures for December 2025, showing that the country received $3.6 billion in remittances from Pakistanis living abroad. This represents a 17% increase compared to last year and a 13% rise from the previous month.
During the first six months of fiscal year 2026, total remittances rose 11% to $19.73 billion, compared to $17.84 billion in the same period of fiscal year 2025.
Country-wise breakdown of remittances shows $813 million from Saudi Arabia, $726 million from the UAE, $560 million from the UK, and $302 million from the USA.
Experts say the increase in remittances is a positive signal for Pakistan’s economy and plays a crucial role in stabilizing the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
