Canada Rejects U.S. Tariffs, Pledges Continued Cooperation

Davos (Monitoring Desk) Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada rejects any U.S. tariffs and seeks to maintain cooperation with the United States for security and prosperity in the Arctic region.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum, Carney took a firm stance on the U.S. position regarding Greenland and the possibility of tariffs. He emphasized that pressure and tariffs are not solutions, and that serious and constructive negotiations are the only way forward.

The Canadian Prime Minister further noted that in today’s world, powerful nations are trying to impose their will, putting the rules-based global system at risk and intensifying competition among major powers.
