Karachi (Turkiye Khabar) Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that MQM is part of the federal government and should raise the issue of load shedding in the cabinet.
Speaking in the Sindh Assembly, he said that MQM has not effectively raised the issue of electricity load shedding in any federal-level meeting. He added that MQM should raise its voice against the federal government and K-Electric.
Criticizing the performance of power institutions, Sharjeel Memon said that electricity distribution companies are taking unconstitutional measures to hide their inefficiency and that after failing in recovery, the public is being subjected to collective punishment.
He said that load shedding of up to 18 hours is being carried out in rural areas and up to 12 hours in urban areas, which is unacceptable. He demanded that the federal government ensure that Sindh is not treated unfairly in the matter of load shedding.
