Washington (Monitoring Desk) Different and contradictory reactions have been seen from Republican leaders over the proposed agreement between the United States and Iran.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said in a statement on the social media platform X that the agreement could prove beneficial for the United States, as it is expected that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened as a result.
However, he adopted a cautious stance regarding long-term negotiations and said that it is still unclear whether the United States will be able to reach an acceptable and verifiable agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and other matters. According to him, there appears to be no major harm in attempting negotiations.
On the other hand, Senator Bill Cassidy strongly criticized the agreement, saying that it has not effectively restricted Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
These contradictory statements from Republican leaders indicate that there is a clear difference of opinion within US political circles regarding the proposed agreement with Iran.
