Baghdad (Monitoring Desk) – A U.S. airstrike in western Iraq killed 10 fighters of the Iran-backed group Hashd al-Shaabi, including commander Saad al-Baji, and left 30 others critically injured.
According to international media, the strike targeted the Hashd al-Shaabi headquarters in Anbar Province. The group, also known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), is now formally integrated into Iraq’s army but includes several Iran-aligned factions.
Reports indicate the airstrike occurred during a meeting of senior PMF commanders, raising concerns about further escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
