Pakistan requested halt to US military action during Iran tensions: Trump’s revelation

Washington (Monitoring Desk) US President Donald Trump has claimed that during the escalation of tensions with Iran and exchange of fire in the Strait of Hormuz, Pakistan requested the United States to avoid military action against Iran while negotiations were ongoing.

According to British media reports, Trump told journalists that Pakistan played an important diplomatic role in the matter and requested the US to show restraint in order to maintain the ceasefire.

He said that Pakistan’s leadership, including the Prime Minister and Field Marshal, played a “remarkable” role in the situation.

Trump further stated that Pakistan had requested during the negotiation process that the situation should not be further escalated, however he also warned that the United States could take strong action again if necessary.

The US President claimed that the ceasefire with Iran is still in place despite Iranian attacks on US naval vessels. He said US forces responded by targeting Iranian military sites.

On the other hand, Iran maintains that firing began after US actions, which further escalated tensions in the region.

The development comes at a time when the situation in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz remains highly tense, raising international concern.
