Ankara (Turkiye News): According to London-based sources, the United Kingdom and Turkey finalized a new agreement on Wednesday for the maintenance and operational support of Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, further strengthening defense ties between the two countries.
The agreement was concluded during visits by Turkey’s Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler and the UK Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps in London.
Turkey’s Ministry of Defense stated that the accord focuses on technical and logistical support for the Eurofighter Typhoon program. Both defense officials also discussed broader cooperation issues during talks in the capital. Authorities confirmed that a separate agreement for the procurement of aircraft, equipment, and ammunition under this program had already been finalized in October of the previous year.
