Istanbul (Turkiye News) Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler met with Vernon Coaker, Minister of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, in Istanbul during the SAHA 2026 defense exhibition.
According to a statement shared on Türkiye’s social media platform NSosyal, Yaşar Güler continued a series of meetings with defense ministers and delegations from various countries during SAHA 2026. However, no further details of the meeting were provided by the authorities.
This major international defense and aerospace exhibition is being held in Istanbul from May 5 to May 9, aiming to highlight Türkiye’s indigenous technology and defense capabilities on a global scale.
Speaking to Anadolu, President of the Turkish Defense Industry Agency Haluk Görgün said that the SAHA Istanbul Defense and Aerospace Cluster has played a significant role in energizing the sector and providing international exposure to related institutions.
He said that under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s “Century of Türkiye” vision, the event will serve as a strategic platform showcasing the country’s defense, aviation, and space ambitions to the world.
Held under the slogan “Master Technology, Shape the Future,” the exhibition is providing Turkish companies an opportunity to present their advancements and discuss future technologies.
According to Haluk Görgün, Türkiye’s defense industry is rapidly advancing through a research and development (R&D)-based strategy, in which large companies, small and medium enterprises, universities, and startups are all playing an important role.
