Turkiye-Germany Strategic Dialogue Meeting, views on promotion of relations

Ankara (Turkey News) The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan will pay an official visit to Germany on Monday, where he will attend the third meeting of the Turkiye-Germany Strategic Dialogue Mechanism. This was stated by sources from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.

According to the sources, the meeting will be held in Berlin and will be co-chaired by Hakan Fidan and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. During the meeting, working groups on bilateral relations, Turkiye-European Union relations, security and defense, and regional affairs will present their reports to the ministers.

In the talks, Hakan Fidan is expected to appreciate the positive atmosphere in relations between the two countries and the recent increase in high-level contacts.

He will emphasize that the Strategic Dialogue Mechanism provides an effective platform for reviewing the strategic aspects of bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation and communication between the foreign ministries of both countries.

The Turkish Foreign Minister will also highlight that the Turkish community living in Germany plays an important role in strengthening the human dimension of relations between the two countries, and that the welfare, security, and prosperity of Turkish expatriates are given special importance.

He will also discuss further promoting strong trade and economic partnership between the two countries and increasing mutual investments.

Hakan Fidan will stress that there is a shared commitment to expanding cooperation in connectivity, modern technology, digitalization, and green energy sectors, while upcoming Energy Forum and JETCO meetings will play an important role in achieving the $60 billion trade target.

He will also point out that Türkiye holds a strategic position in connectivity projects linking Europe, the Middle East, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia, while joint projects to further strengthen defense industry and military cooperation with Germany will also be discussed.
