Istanbul (Turkiye News) The main benchmark index of Turkey’s central stock market closed at a historic level on the first trading day of the week.
According to details, the Istanbul Stock Exchange benchmark index closed at 14,594.01 points, marking its highest level to date, with a recorded increase of 1.28 percent.
The market opened at 14,446 points, while during the day it touched a low of 14,423 points and a high of 14,621 points.
According to figures, a total of 57 stocks recorded gains, while 42 declined.
Experts say the total market capitalization stood at approximately 14.24 trillion Turkish lira, while the daily trading volume was recorded at 188.1 billion lira.
In global markets, gold was priced at 4,675 US dollars per ounce, while Brent crude oil stood at 108.9 dollars per barrel.
In foreign exchange trading, the US dollar was at 45.02 Turkish lira, the euro at 52.87 lira, and the British pound at 61.05 lira.
