Istanbul (Turkiye News): Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that his recent visit to Bulgaria has reaffirmed the commitment of both neighboring countries to further enhance strong bilateral relations and cooperation.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, he said that the historical, human, and cultural ties between Türkiye and Bulgaria not only define the present but also shape their shared future direction.
Referring to his meetings with senior officials during his visit to Sofia, he said it was clear that both countries can further expand cooperation in key sectors such as energy, transport, connectivity, and the defense industry.
He thanked the Bulgarian leadership and his counterparts, saying the visit played an important role in strengthening bilateral relations.
The Turkish foreign minister also described his meeting with the Turkish community in Bulgaria as encouraging, noting his long-standing ties with the community.
He further highlighted his interaction with Turkish businesspeople operating in Bulgaria, praising their contributions and saying their efforts play an important role in the prosperity and peace of both countries.
