Turkish and German Foreign Ministers Discuss Ending War in Iran

Istanbul (Turkey News) – Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, spoke via phone with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul regarding the ongoing war in Iran.

Sources indicate that both ministers discussed efforts to end the conflict, which escalated after the joint U.S. and Israeli strike on Iran on February 28. In retaliation, Iran launched drone and missile attacks targeting not only Israel but also U.S. military bases in Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and impacts on global markets and aviation.

Hakan Fidan has been actively pursuing diplomatic initiatives to end the war in the Middle East. Previously, he held separate contacts with Iran’s Abbas Araqchi, as well as officials from the United States and the European Union, aiming to establish stability in the region.
