Turkey’s Foreign Minister Discusses Middle East Situation with Counterparts from Jordan, Japan, Qatar, and Egypt

Ankara (Turkiya News) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held separate phone calls on Wednesday with the foreign ministers of Jordan, Japan, Qatar, and Egypt to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East.

According to sources, Fidan and Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed the Palestinian issue and multilateral diplomatic efforts to end ongoing conflicts in the region. Fidan also spoke with Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, Qatar’s Foreign Minister and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati regarding the Middle East, the Iran conflict, and its global repercussions.

Sources noted that tensions in the region escalated after Israel and the United States carried out a joint attack against Iran on February 28, which prompted retaliatory drone and missile strikes by Iran targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries.
