Ankara (Turkey News) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that if the relevant parties request, Turkey is ready to take part in mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
In an interview with South Korean broadcaster JTBC, he said that if an agreement is reached between the parties or Turkey is asked to assist in such an operation, Ankara would be willing to play a role.
Hakan Fidan said that Turkey maintains a consistent policy regarding conflict resolution, as was also seen during the Russia-Ukraine war.
He added that when conflicting parties agree on a solution and request Turkey’s cooperation or facilitation, it is ready to assist.
Referring to ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, he expressed hope that progress could be made through negotiations, as both sides appear to want a reduction in tensions.
