Global Islamic Economy Summit in Istanbul discusses ethical principles in economic development

Istanbul (Turkey News) The Third Global Islamic Economy Summit was held at the Finance Center under the patronage of the Presidency, as part of the AlBaraka Summit Series, while Anadolu Agency served as its global communications partner.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the AlBaraka Islamic Economic Forum, said that establishing a clear and effective framework for the role of capital in the Islamic economy is an urgent necessity.

He stated that through such a framework, capital not only becomes a means of generating wealth but is also utilized for social welfare and charitable purposes.

He praised countries where the waqf (endowment) system has been made active, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Malaysia, and said that other countries should also learn from their experiences.

He further added that in these countries, the developmental role of waqf has strengthened over time, representing the continuation of a great civilizational heritage spanning centuries.

Speaking at the event, Saudi royal advisor and Imam of Masjid al-Haram, Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, highlighted the human-centered concept of Islamic economy, stating that economic development should be based on ethical principles.
