Istanbul (Turkey News) Speaking at the gala dinner of the Zero Waste Forum, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that climate change is a serious threat to humanity, with impacts similar to wars and global pandemics.
He said that environmental and production-related issues are interconnected, including air pollution, food shortages, waste management, and natural disasters, all of which influence each other under a “butterfly effect.”
According to President Erdogan, the effects of these problems are intensifying every year, and various sectors including energy, transport, health, agriculture, and livestock are being affected.
He stressed that the issue should not be seen merely as “climate change” but as an “environmental crisis,” so that more effective and realistic policies can be developed to address it.
Erdogan added that in the current era, artificial intelligence and modern technology are accelerating production, while irresponsible and unconscious consumption is damaging natural resources.
