Ankara (Turkey News): Provincial police traffic teams in Turkey have started using drones to monitor drivers violating restricted areas in Sarıyer, Eyüpsultan, and Ümraniye.
In Ümraniye, multiple motorcyclists and car drivers were caught attempting to enter restricted zones near Şile Road and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. Similar monitoring took place on the Sarıyer-Maslak TEM Highway and at the Sebzi Tunnel on the Northern Marmara Highway in Eyüpsultan.
Police reported that some drivers justified their violations by saying: “I was late for work,” “I didn’t realize it was a restricted area,” “It’s my first time entering; I’m usually careful,” “Missed the intersection,” and “I won’t repeat this again.”
Most of the violators were motorcyclists, and legal action has been taken against all offenders.
