Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Security experts have warned that any potential developments related to Kharg Island could have serious implications for regional stability in the Gulf.
According to Dania Zafar, Executive Director of the Gulf International Forum, if the United States adopts a policy involving control or a hardline approach toward Kharg Island, it could pose severe security risks for the entire Gulf region.
She stated that under such a scenario, Iran may respond by targeting Gulf countries or US allies in the region, which could further escalate tensions.
Dania Zafar added that Kharg Island is a highly important strategic and energy hub for Iran, through which a major share of the country’s oil exports is supplied to global markets.
Experts further warned that such a situation could not only destabilize regional peace but also have significant impacts on global energy markets.
