Tensions increase in Strait of Hormuz; plans under consideration to target Iran’s capabilities

Washington (Monitoring Desk) The US military has reportedly begun new planning to limit Iran’s military capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a US media outlet, in case of a ceasefire breakdown, Iranian installations and military assets in and around the Strait of Hormuz, the southern Arabian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman could be targeted.

The report, citing sources, said that the proposed operations may target Iran’s fast small boats, mine-laying vessels, and other unconventional military capabilities. These are assets Iran has previously used to exert influence and pressure in key waterways.

According to US officials, the purpose of this plan is to ensure the security of maritime routes in the region and prevent any possible blockade or disruption.

Experts say this development could further increase already existing tensions in the Middle East and may also impact global energy supply chains.
