Kabul (Monitoring Desk) According to people associated with the agriculture sector, there has been an unusual decline in the prices of tomatoes, onions, fresh fruits, and vegetables in Afghanistan, due to which Afghan farmers are facing severe economic difficulties.
Reports suggest that Afghanistan’s trade activities have been affected by various restrictions and border closures, resulting in a significant decrease in the export of agricultural products.
Local farmers say that earlier the price of tomatoes was around 12,000 Afghanis per “man,” which has now dropped to just 500 Afghanis, severely impacting their income.
Farmers have demanded that authorities take immediate steps to address the agricultural crisis so that their difficulties can be reduced.
According to experts, limited access to nearby markets including Pakistan has affected Afghan agricultural exports, putting pressure on the rural economy.
Overall, price instability in the agricultural sector and trade barriers are creating major challenges for Afghan farmers.
