New Delhi (Monitoring Desk): International media reports indicate a significant increase in arrests, investigations, and deportations of individuals of Indian origin abroad, drawing global attention.
According to The Hindu Times, 89 people of Indian origin are listed in the US immigration database under high-priority criminal cases. The US Department of Homeland Security has published their names and details of alleged crimes, including sexual offenses, drug smuggling, fraud, kidnapping, money laundering, and violence.
Meanwhile, The Indian Express reports that in 2025 alone, the United States deported 3,800 illegal Indian nationals, the highest number in recent years.
Analysts say that rising crime rates, social instability, and questions over India’s judicial system are affecting the global perception of Indian society, creating new diplomatic and social challenges.
