New Details of Diplomatic Progress Between Iran and the United States Emerge

Washington (Monitoring Desk) New details have emerged regarding a possible diplomatic breakthrough between Iran and the United States in the context of ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

According to a report by the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Iran has expressed willingness in its response regarding the end of the conflict to suspend uranium enrichment for a limited period; however, it has rejected Washington’s long-term conditions.

The report stated that Washington had demanded Iran halt uranium enrichment for 20 years, a condition which Tehran has deemed unacceptable.

According to sources, Iran has also proposed in its response a phased ceasefire, a gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and the initiation of new negotiations within the next 30 days.

The newspaper reported that Iranian leadership maintains that progress in reducing regional tensions could be possible if sanctions are lifted and restrictions on maritime blockades are eased.
