Tehran (Monitoring Desk) – On the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, protesters in Tehran and other major Iranian cities set fire to a statue known as “Baal” during official celebrations and chanted “Death to Israel.”
The demonstrations took place as part of the official “22 Bahman” gatherings, which saw large crowds expressing support for Iran’s current political and regional policies. According to Iranian media, the statue bore the Star of David and an image of U.S. President Donald Trump, both of which were burned by the protesters. Baal was presented as an ancient deity, and this symbolic act was portrayed as a demonstration of resistance against Western powers and Israel.
