Baku (Turkiye Khabar): A new round of negotiations between Azerbaijan and the European Union on a comprehensive agreement and partnership priorities for 2026–2030 has been completed.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks were held in Baku on June 2 and 3, with senior delegations from both sides in attendance.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, while the EU delegation was headed by Odrone Perkauskiene, Deputy Executive Director of the European External Action Service.
The negotiations were described as constructive and positive, with preliminary agreement reached on the draft of partnership priorities for 2026–2030.
Detailed discussions were held on various sections of the new comprehensive agreement, with participation from relevant Azerbaijani institutions and EU representatives. Progress was recorded in multiple areas, along with planning for future phases.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to continue negotiations on the new bilateral agreement through both online and in-person meetings to accelerate progress.
