Economic Cooperation Between UK and Azerbaijan Turning into Strategic Partnership: David Reed

Baku (Turkiye Khabar): The UK Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, David Reed, has said that economic relations between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan have developed into a strong and strategic partnership.

In an interview, he stated that trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation between the two countries have steadily strengthened over the past three decades, with the current bilateral trade volume reaching around one billion pounds.

According to him, the United Kingdom is the largest foreign investor in Azerbaijan, and British companies are actively engaged in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, financial services, technology, and aviation.

He said that during his recent visit to Baku, he observed that bilateral relations are entering a new phase, where cooperation is expanding not only in the energy sector but also in other areas.

David Reed added that there are significant opportunities for collaboration in digital infrastructure, transport, aviation, and capital markets.

He emphasized that the strategic partnership between the UK and Azerbaijan will create new opportunities for economic diversification, regional connectivity, innovation, and development in the future, providing a strong foundation for long-term cooperation between the two countries.
