Islamabad (Türkiye News) Pakistan has intensified high-level diplomatic contacts with Iran to persuade Tehran to participate in the second round of negotiations and to maintain the fragile ceasefire while paving the way for lasting peace.
According to sources, Pakistan’s top leadership is in continuous contact with Iranian officials. In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi are playing an active role.
Officials said Pakistan is trying to prevent any possible escalation and ensure the extension of the ceasefire, while also encouraging both sides to engage in direct talks for long-term stability.
A well-informed source said that Pakistan is continuing its efforts in full swing and is awaiting Iran’s response.
According to sources, Pakistan is fully prepared to host and facilitate the negotiations, and as soon as Iran confirms participation, arrangements for the second round of talks will be made in Islamabad.
It is worth noting that, contrary to some international media reports, Pakistan’s Information Minister clarified on social media that the final schedule depends on Iran’s response.
