No Disruption in Energy Supply Despite Middle East Tensions: Turkey

Ankara (Turkiye News): Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated on Wednesday that energy supply in the country remains stable despite rising tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking to Anadolu Editors Desk, Bayraktar said that Turkey’s energy security has not been affected even amid potential U.S. and Israeli operations against Iran. He warned that if the regional tensions persist, the impact on the global economy could be even more severe than recent crises.

“The world has faced major shocks in recent years, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, which disrupted supply chains, logistics, and raised energy and commodity prices, fueling inflation,” he said. Bayraktar added, “If this crisis continues in the medium to long term, it could be far more destructive and affect the entire global economy.”

He expressed hope that the conflict will be resolved soon to limit its global repercussions.
