Baku (Turkiya News): On December 28, the Azerbaijani Language platform was officially inaugurated at the Azerbaijan University of Languages. The project’s author and head is Alina Aliyeva.
The ceremony was attended by Laila Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of IDEA Public Union; Arzu Aliyeva, head of Baku Media Center; and the project author Alina Aliyeva. The university’s Rector, Kamal Abdulla, welcomed the guests, briefed them about university activities, and conducted a tour of the university museum.
In his address, Rector Kamal Abdulla highlighted the importance of the platform for the preservation, promotion, and development of the Azerbaijani language in the modern digital environment. Referring to the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, he praised the contributions of the university’s scientists and young experts in meeting this need. He also noted that the university is establishing Azerbaijani language, culture, and multicultural model centers abroad and teaching foreign students the language, emphasizing better coordination and the creation of a coordination council.
Alina Aliyeva congratulated participants on the launch of the platform and thanked the supporting institutions. Later, Vice Rector Jala Gharibova and project coordinator Sabina Aliyeva provided detailed insights into the platform’s objectives, technical features, and teaching capabilities.
Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, in his congratulatory message, said that the platform will play a key role in improving the quality of state language teaching and expanding digital educational resources. He highlighted that there are over 50 million Azerbaijani speakers worldwide, and the platform will be especially beneficial for foreign students and language learners.
The platform is primarily English-based but can be translated into other languages and incorporates modern artificial intelligence technology to enhance the teaching and learning of the Azerbaijani language.
