Baku (Turkey News Desk)Central Bank of Azerbaijan has decided to keep its policy interest rate unchanged at 6.5 percent.
According to an official statement, the Monetary Policy Committee maintained the current interest rate level, while the lower bound of the interest rate corridor remains at 5.5 percent and the upper bound at 7.5 percent.
The central bank said the decision was taken in view of current and expected inflation levels, global geopolitical risks, international financial conditions, and the domestic economic environment.
The statement further added that maintaining the current interest rate was also necessary to ensure better transmission of monetary policy effects into the real economy.
