Karachi (Turkiye Khabar): Muttahida Qaumi Movement has presented an alternative budget and demanded that taxes be collected from the wealthy class.
Party leader Farooq Sattar, while addressing a press conference, said that the levy imposed on petroleum should be immediately abolished and the tax burden on salaried individuals and the middle class should be reduced.
He said that it is essential to provide immediate relief to small farmers and sharecroppers so that the rural economy can be supported. According to him, the purchasing power of the public in the country is continuously declining, and economic stagnation has further worsened the situation.
Farooq Sattar stated that the country’s economic sovereignty is extremely important for its survival, and that the economy can only be improved through local investment.
He further said that due to the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan has gained international attention.
