Italy (Monitoring Desk): Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has stated that the situation in the Middle East has entered a critical phase, and a fragile opportunity for peace exists that must be pursued seriously.
Addressing the Italian parliament, she said that any violation of the ceasefire would be strongly condemned and that all parties must act responsibly to ensure stability in the region.
She added that for Italy and the European Union, restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is extremely important, as it holds key significance for global trade and the economy.
Giorgia Meloni further stated that if the Middle East crisis intensifies again, Europe may need to consider temporary flexibility in fiscal discipline rules to cope with potential impacts.
