Lahore (Türkiye News) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that PTI founder Imran Khan should be released and given the opportunity to play a political role.
Speaking to journalists in Lahore, he said that contacts with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have not reached any conclusion.
Commenting on the situation in the Middle East, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Gulf countries should understand that American bases are causing harm to them, while Pakistan is trying to prevent a major war in the world through mediation.
He said that if the current situation continues, it could lead to a global war and other powers may also become involved.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman appreciated the defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and said that the CPEC project was affected during the previous government’s tenure and has still not been fully restored.
He further said that there is continuity in policies of different governments regarding religious seminaries, while issues related to registration and bank accounts of seminaries are still unresolved.
