Israel Hacked Tehran Traffic Cameras to Target Khamenei: Financial Times

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — The Financial Times has revealed significant details regarding the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Israeli intelligence operations. According to the report, Israel had hacked Tehran’s traffic cameras several years ago, establishing a sophisticated surveillance network.

Through this network, detailed information on security personnel, vehicles, and internal routines within compounds was obtained. Israeli intelligence also disrupted mobile phone towers to prevent warnings from reaching security staff.

Officials stated that the operation was carried out under a joint network of Mossad, military intelligence, and Unit 8200, analyzing billions of data points to identify targets.

During a 12-day conflict with Iran last year, Israel disabled Iranian air defenses through cyberattacks, drones, and Sparrow missiles, targeting several scientists and military officers. Experts noted that targeting a leader of this stature was not only a technical achievement but also a political decision that required meticulous preparation and precise timing.
