Iran War: Trump Seeks Greater Cooperation from US and European Allies After Political Shift

New York (Monitoring Desk) After Iran moves closer to a political resolution of the war, efforts by US President Donald Trump to secure support from European allies and G7 countries have intensified.

According to former NATO policy planner Fabrice Pothier, the US President may seek practical cooperation to ensure the continuity of maritime trade in the Strait of Hormuz. He said that after tensions between the US and G7 countries over the past six months, the current situation could also provide an opportunity for reconciliation.

He added that President Trump is unlikely to avoid attending the G7 summit, but it is less likely that he will fully accept the role of European allies and their cautious stance regarding the war.

According to Fabrice Pothier, European countries and other G7 partners were not fully informed about the background of the war, its planning, and the decision-making process, which is why differences have persisted.
