Further Time Needed for Full Restoration of the Strait of Hormuz

Washington (Monitoring Desk) The White House has said that the full restoration of the Strait of Hormuz is a gradual and complex process that requires further practical measures.

According to Arab media reports, the White House stated that although an announcement has been made at the political level to open the Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic, ground realities indicate that the process of fully securing the route is still ongoing.

Following the announcement of the agreement by the U.S. President, ships were instructed to prepare for travel, however experts say additional measures are essential to ensure complete safety in the maritime passage.

The report further stated that underwater mine clearance operations are ongoing and are expected to continue this week as well. After the completion of the clearance, the sea route will effectively be reopened, although some risks may remain in the initial phase.

Experts say that complete clearance of sea mines is a time-consuming process affected by weather conditions and may take several more weeks.

On the other hand, some commercial shipping companies and insurance providers are also expected to maintain a cautious approach, while several firms may prefer enhanced security arrangements or convoy-based travel.
