Iran Requests Pakistan’s Support in Reducing Regional Tensions

Islamabad (Turkiye News) Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which they discussed the latest regional developments, the evolving situation, and matters of mutual interest in detail.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over reported violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and the growing tensions across the region. He also described reports of possible attacks on certain areas of Beirut as a matter of serious concern.

During the discussion, Abbas Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in regional diplomacy and requested that Pakistan continue to play an active part in efforts aimed at reducing tensions. He also expressed hope for Pakistan’s continued support in maintaining the ceasefire and promoting peace in the region.

On the occasion, Ishaq Dar conveyed Pakistan’s deep concern regarding the current regional situation. He emphasized that the continuation of the ceasefire is essential for preserving ongoing understandings and broader peace efforts.

Both leaders underscored the importance of promoting peace and stability in the region and agreed to remain in close contact while continuing consultations on regional issues.
