Tehran (Monitoring Desk): The Iranian Armed Forces announced that it fired multiple cruise missiles from Iranian coasts at the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, with some missiles reportedly hitting the vessel.
Shahram Irani stated that the aircraft carrier was targeted and warned of the possibility of further attacks. According to the military statement, the Iranian missiles forced the carrier to change its position in the Gulf.
Commander Shahram Irani emphasized that the vessel’s movements are under continuous monitoring, and any entry into the Iranian missile system’s range will result in a heavy strike.
On March 13, the Iranian Armed Forces headquarters announced that the aircraft carrier and other U.S. Fifth Fleet aircraft had been bombarded with missiles and drones.
This development comes as the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford returned to the naval base on the Greek island of Crete after participating in strikes against Iran. According to a French press agency photographer, the USS Gerald R. Ford had joined USS Abraham Lincoln in an attack against Iran on February 28.
