Interesting Exchange Between Court and Victim in Case of Citizen Sent Abroad

Islamabad (Turkey News) – The Supreme Court held a hearing on the bail petition of a suspect who allegedly collected 1.75 million rupees from a citizen by promising to send him abroad.

The case was heard by a two-member bench headed by Justice Hashim Kakdar, during which an interesting exchange occurred between the court and the victim.

During the proceedings, Justice Hashim Kakdar inquired about the amount taken by the suspect. The victim’s lawyer stated that the suspect had received 1.75 million rupees from the citizen. The court then asked the victim which country he had intended to travel to. The citizen replied that the money was paid for a trip to Greece.

Justice Kakdar remarked that going to Greece could have left the citizen stranded, and it would have been better to work locally, noting that many people attempting to travel abroad by boat have lost their lives.

The court further asked whether the suspect had sent the citizen abroad after taking the money. The lawyer clarified that the citizen was neither sent abroad nor was the money returned. Additionally, the lawyer informed the court that the checks issued by the suspect had bounced, and separate cases were filed for the bounced checks.
