Historic Second Round of Talks Expected in Islamabad Tomorrow, Global Diplomatic Focus Shifts to Pakistan

Islamabad (Turkey News) A major development has emerged in efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East, as the second and highly important round of talks between the United States and Iran is set to take place tomorrow (Wednesday) in Islamabad.

According to details, US Vice President J.D. Vance will depart from Washington on Tuesday with a high-level delegation bound for Pakistan. US media reports suggest that these talks are being seen as a crucial diplomatic opportunity to ease ongoing regional tensions.

Sources say Pakistan has played an active diplomatic role to ensure the success of the talks. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, stressing the need for immediate engagement and dialogue to achieve lasting peace in the region.

Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held separate meetings with the US and Iranian ambassadors in Islamabad and confirmed that all arrangements for the second phase of negotiations have been completed.

Both ambassadors reportedly appreciated Pakistan’s role in reducing regional tensions and described it as positive and constructive.

International observers say that despite recent strong statements, choosing Islamabad as the venue indicates that both sides are serious about efforts to de-escalate tensions.
