Chief Justice Calls Key Judicial Meetings on June 11

Islamabad (Turkiye News Desk): Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has called three important high-level meetings on June 11 related to the country’s judicial system. The meetings will review complaints against judges, new judicial appointments, and the timely delivery of justice to litigants.

According to sources, the first meeting will be of the Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice. It will review complaints filed against judges of various High Courts across the country and examine related matters in detail.

On the same day, a meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan will also be held. It will consider the procedure for appointing new judges in the High Courts and approve proposed rules for evaluating the performance of existing judges. It is expected that final approval of these rules may be granted, after which the process of interviewing candidates for new appointments will begin. The meeting will also decide the framework for performance evaluation of sitting judges.

Later, a meeting of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee will take place, also chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan. Chief Justices of all High Courts will participate in the meeting, where issues such as reducing pending cases, ensuring timely justice for litigants, and ongoing judicial reforms will be reviewed.

During the session, High Courts are expected to brief participants on steps taken in their respective provinces to improve the judicial system. Further directions may also be issued to expedite old cases and ensure faster delivery of justice.
