Ankara (Turkey News) NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş has said that Türkiye is among the leading contributing countries in the mission and that Turkish personnel are serving at various operational levels to support peace and stability.
Speaking to Anadolu at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, he said that the KFOR mission is operating in Kosovo under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, with its main objective being to maintain a safe and secure environment and ensure freedom of movement.
He said that the presence of KFOR is extremely important for regional stability, and the mission is working in close coordination with the Kosovo Police, the Serbian Armed Forces, the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), and other international institutions.
According to Major General Özkan Ulutaş, the KFOR mission is also in continuous contact with local communities and civil society, which is helping to promote peace, stability, and freedom of movement on the ground.
