Islamabad (Turkey News): Following the directives of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, extensive austerity measures have been implemented in the National Assembly Secretariat under Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s efficiency campaign.
According to the notification:
- 70% of government vehicles will remain grounded.
- Members of the National Assembly will face a 25% cut in their salaries and allowances for two months.
- All overseas trips by parliamentary delegations have been completely banned.
- Officers in grade 20 and above, or those earning a monthly salary of PKR 300,000 or more, will contribute two days of their salary to the national treasury.
All non-essential purchases within the Secretariat have been halted, with only limited spending allowed for urgent needs. Assembly and committee meetings will be scheduled before sunset, while 80% of staff will perform virtual duties from home without additional allowances. Standing committee meetings will be held virtually or online, and the workweek will be limited to four days.
