Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Lebanese Army Chief, agrees to enhance defence cooperation

Rawalpindi (Turkey News Desk): Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir met Lebanese Army Chief General Rudolf Haykal at the GHQ, where matters of mutual interest and defence cooperation were discussed.

According to ISPR, the Lebanese Army Chief was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces upon his arrival.

The meeting included detailed discussions on the regional security situation, promotion of defence cooperation, and strengthening professional ties between the armed forces of both countries.

Field Marshal Asim Munir termed Pakistan and Lebanon’s long-standing friendly relations as important and said that the Pakistan Army is committed to further expanding defence cooperation.

The Lebanese Army Chief praised the professional capabilities, training expertise, and role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in international peacekeeping missions.

Both leaders agreed that bilateral relations would be strengthened further by promoting cooperation at the military level.
