Possibilities of coalition government in Gilgit-Baltistan; PPP and PML-N considering power-sharing formula

Islamabad (Turkey News Desk): The chances of forming a government in Gilgit-Baltistan among coalition parties at the center have further increased.

According to sources, political contacts and consultation processes have been initiated for the formation of a government in Gilgit-Baltistan, under which a coalition government between the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is likely to be formed.

The Pakistan Peoples Party, which secured the highest number of seats in the elections, may likely be given the position of Chief Minister, while the post of Governor for the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is also under consideration.

Sources say that discussions are also underway between the two parties on a power-sharing formula similar to that of the federation and provinces, under which ministries may be distributed on a 60 and 40 percent basis.

According to political circles, if this formula is finalized, a new coalition government may come into existence in Gilgit-Baltistan.
