Islamabad (Turkish News): Supply of diesel and jet fuel to Pakistan via Kuwaiti shipments has been restored, ensuring availability of jet fuel for airlines and preventing additional airfare costs for passengers.
Sources say Iran has provided a secure route for Pakistani oil cargo, and a limited number of shipments have already passed through. Around twenty tankers are expected in phases, with one to two tankers arriving daily.
The existing fifty-year supply agreement with Kuwait remains active, although a new agreement has yet to be finalized. Pakistan has also been receiving three to five oil shipments monthly from Saudi Arabia and two to four from the United Arab Emirates.
The restoration of supply is expected to reduce potential shortages in electricity, diesel, and transport sectors, ensuring public needs remain unaffected. With ongoing reforms in the energy and aviation sectors, prices are likely to remain stable.
